THE COS GUIDE TO PRODUCT CARE

CASHMERE
Cashmere is sourced from the goats of the Mongolian Plateau which have two layers of insulating fleece. The softer layer is combed and gathered in the warmer season and has been spun into yarn for centuries. A tactile fibre, it has an unmistakable softness and a lightweight feel due to the uniquely wavy shape of its fine strands.
COS provides high-quality cashmere, crafted from fine fibres that embody an exceptionally soft finish. Our collection features 100% cashmere, pieces made with recycled cashmere and undyed styles. Our conventional cashmere is Good Cashmere Standard® verified.
CASHMERE JUMPERS
The cashmere jumper is a signature COS design, forming a central part of our collections.
During the colder months when cashmere is worn more often, wash sweaters as infrequently as possible and ventilate between wears to save energy and water. Hand-wash or use a special detergent on a gentle machine cycle according to care instructions to prevent pilling. Squeeze excess water without twisting and lay flat on a towel to dry, reshaping while damp. Fabric sprays can be used to refresh cashmere garments too.
In the warmer months, store folded in drawers with mothballs as hanging can alter the shape. Use a pilling comb to retain the yarn's softness.
CASHMERE ACCESSORIES
Cashmere gloves and scarves are mostly worn in cooler temperatures and therefore only require minimal washing. Hand-wash or use a special detergent on a gentle machine cycle according to care instructions to prevent pilling. In the warmer months, store in drawers with mothballs and use a pilling comb to maintain softness.
Cashmere is intended to last a lifetime and repair is an important part of caring for jumpers and accessories. Darning holes rebuilds the knit structure using warp and weft threads, which are woven to recreate the original look, thus strengthening the fabric. This can be done at home or taken to professional repairers in order to maintain the lifespan of this special material. A cashmere comb or shaver can also be used to remove pilling, maintaining a fresh look.
