I am a typical UK size 10-12, more like a 12.  And would typically wear a medium or a large depending on the store. A medium for the great British stalwart, and a large in the main fast fashion large store.

But I ordered the 36 in this and it was perfect. I have also got short sleeved shirts from COS in a size 34, but I find that for long-sleeved the sleeves are too short in a size 34.

The  stripes on the sleeve go the same way as the shirt at the front - cut from one piece of material - they are not 'set in'., I think it's called a 'Dolman sleeve'.
At the back the sleeves go the 'normal' direction down the arm and the sleeves are 'set in' at the back. 

I normally really don't like a sleeve that is Dolman or batwing. I don't like the look of them and I don't like the restricted movement.

However I love the colour of this shirt, and the fact that the sleeve is set in at the back and the whole shirt is oversized, means that the movement isn't too restricted, so have decided to keep it.

Although the stripes going in the same direction as the body is a design feature, I would probably have preferred this shirt with the 'normal' stripes going down the sleeve and a 'set in' sleeve. Or I would also have been happy with the stripes as they are, but made from a separate bit of material, so that the sleeve is properly 'set in' rather than a dolman.
