Leather is a durable material made from animal hides.

Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is a synthetic material made from a type of polymer (a fossil resource).

So I really really wanted these shoes to work out because I was looking for a medium heel mary jane with pointed toe.  First, the online image is not the same as in reality--the front toe box is way longer and pointier than online.  Even that would be fine for me except the leather is extremely hard and even trying it on with stockings the leather was so stiff I knew it would not be comfortable, even with my narrow toes and feet.  The width and length was fine (I bought the EU 39), depending on the brand I wear a US 8.5.
The strap was also very difficult to insert into the buckle--I mean literally the buckle size might be wrong or the strap is too wide.  I gave up trying to even insert the strap into the buckle.  Unfortunately I am returning these as $259 is not a good value for this type of fit.

Only comment is this is closer to a black/brown than a red. Reads very dark which is fine but not "red"
