A softer vision of the loafer, made in Porto. Supple leather, signature detailing and expert craftsmanship create a modern iteration of a classic silhouette.

INTRODUCING: THE LEATHER MOCCASIN LOAFER
In the historic city of Porto, where generations of shoemakers have honed their craft, the COS moccasin loafer is brought to life. Leather specialists from the region combine technique with an eye for quality to create a new classic; a loafer defined by understated elegance, reimagined through the COS design lens.
Specific stages of the shoemaking process – such as hand-marking, hand-polishing and hand-stitching the vamp – are manually carried out by skilled craftspeople, while the remaining parts of the shoe, including the sole, are assembled using machines. Tanned in Portugal, the leather hide is carefully inspected for flaws, marked with chalk to create the pattern and then assembled with a shoe last onto a full leather sole. The heel is designed with nails for wear-resistance and a gentleman's corner – a bevelled instep on the corner of the heel originally developed to prevent trouser hems catching on the shoe. The leather upper is then hand-stitched at the vamp to achieve the shoe's distinct gathering, a detail drawn from the traditional moccasin silhouette, followed by brushing and hand-polishing for a refined finish.

HOW TO STYLE LEATHER MOCCASIN LOAFERS
An endlessly versatile shoe, the moccasin loafer is a fixture of the rotational COS wardrobe. Crafted in black leather to move effortlessly between seasons, its streamlined silhouette, subtle ruching and comfort lend a refined ease to everyday looks. Wear with knitted socks and styled back with jeans or shorts, or with tailored trousers, skirts and dresses to give professional and evening outfits a sense of sophistication.

SIZING & FIT GUIDE
The COS moccasin loafer is crafted for a comfortable fit that suits a variety of foot shapes. Although designed with a narrow silhouette, they fit true to size, while lightweight, flexible soles offer all-day wearability. For half sizes, we recommend sizing up for the best fit. Keep your most frequently worn socks in mind when selecting a size. Finely woven cotton socks should fit comfortably in your normal size, while thicker wool and cashmere styles may call for a little extra space for optimal comfort.
HOW TO CARE FOR LEATHER
Preserve the look and quality of your leather loafers with these simple care routines.
COS leather shoe care:
How to clean leather loafers
• Spot clean leather with a slightly damp cloth.
• For a more thorough clean, use a mild leather cleaner applied gently in circular motions.
• Buff using a specialist leather balm to condition the leather and keep it supple.
• Allow them to dry naturally, avoiding heat sources that could dry out the leather.
How to protect leather loafers
• Protection begins with preparation: apply a quality leather protector before wearing your loafers for the first time. This acts as a barrier against water and stains without altering the material’s natural texture.
• Repeat this step periodically, especially after cleaning.
• Wooden shoe trees help retain the shape of the leather and reduce creasing that can happen with wear.
