Ever since our launch in 2007, COS cashmere has been a perennial favourite among our community – from recycled to repurposed styles. Its signature softness makes it both a winter staple and treasured investment. At COS, we’re committed to sourcing this precious fibre in the most responsible way – and that’s where the Good Cashmere Standard comes in.
Sourcing and producing cashmere comes with a range of ethical and environmental challenges. At COS, we want to be part of creating a solution. We’re committed to sourcing this precious fibre in the most responsible way – and that’s where the Good Cashmere Standard comes in.
We’re proud partners of the Good Cashmere Standard by the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) – working to source traceable, sustainably certified cashmere that cares for the wellbeing of cashmere goats, protects the environment and supports the herders that produce it.
The wellbeing of the cashmere goats lies at the heart of the Good Cashmere Standard: animals are respected and given the freedom to live a happy, carefree life.
THE HERDER COMMUNITY
The cashmere comes from certified, responsible farms of all sizes who are committed to the rights of children and workers, gender equality and fair pay, as well as health and safety.
The program works to conserve the land and biodiversity that cashmere goats, farmers and farming communities live on – protecting the environment, avoiding pollution, and ensuring that fertilisers and pesticides are used responsibly.
