COS Funding Alert
In order to receive COS Funding Alert, the recipient must be a registered user of COS and must set up searches in a Funding Alert account through their personalized COS Workbench.

COS Funding Alert is a personalized electronic notification service of funding information. COS Funding Alert subscribers receive a weekly e-mail with a customized list of funding opportunities based on previously specified criteria provided by the individual COS members.

Refer to the Funding Alert Set-Up or Funding Alert Tutorial pages for help accessing or personalizing your Alert.

The funding information provided by COS is drawn from regularly-updated information in the COS Funding Opportunities database of more than 24,000 records, representing over 400,000 funding opportunities, worth over $33 billion. Each funding opportunity listed in COS Funding Alert contains information such as title, sponsor, deadline and amount, while also providing a link to more detailed information.

COS Funding Alert also offers a number of advanced search options, such as:
  • The ability to specify certain demographic information (such as citizenship, activity location) to be used as a filter for all results.
  • The option of receiving an e-mail or having the alert pushed directly to the individual's COS Workbench.
  • The use of "Archived Results" to keep track of previous COS Funding Alert results.

"I wanted to let you know that I was successful in winning a National Research Council Fellowship for academic year 1998-99. I will be scholar in residence at the National Institute on Post-Secondary Education, Libraries, and Lifelong Learning. I learned of this opportunity through COS Funding Alert and I just want to say thanks! This is a wonderful service." - Deborah Brandt, University of Wisconsin-Madison
